Witness Protection Pat: Corner Bistro

WPP reppin’ with the keaphope crew, makes his way out to sample the famed Corner Bistro burger. No Sunday burger sample would be complete without a bevy of beers. Stay tuned till the end to get WPP’s final synopsis on the meal.

I really wanted to hold off on posting this, but it’s too good not to share.

Witness Protection Pat TV : Brooklyn Wings Competition

Keap Hope contributor and resident food expert Witness Protect Pat (WPP) heads out to Greenpoint, BK to check out the Brooklyn Wings Competition and Festival at Red Star Bar. See the sights and wait till the end to see what the only judge who’s opinion matter, WPP, thought of the entire event and the winning wing.

My apologies for the video not actually ending and continuing on with nothing, I blame the snow. More WPP coming soon!

Jeff Staple and DJ Neil Armstrong - Across Rue de Caronne

Great video, showing two unique minds meeting and sharing thoughts. Love the style of production. It is these type of videos that inspire me to continue to create and document.

TWON NYC

In the ever changing street wear and fashion world, sometimes all it takes is one idea to take a crew from nothing to something. The Chinatown team of Twon hit their big break a couple years back when their now creative director was applying for an internship with Staple Design. The founder Jeff Staple commented on the design for their “Canal St’ t-shirt and after a little hardwork-and a lot of t shirts later-the crew of Twon became the brand Twon NYC.

We caught up with co-founder Cory Ng at their Lower East Side offices to learn about the history of Twon and what’s in store for 2010.

via The Volume, Live Photos of The Constellations at Brooklyn Bowl
Put this short write up together on The Volume for a really fun event last week at BK Bowl with ATL based group The Constellations. I brought along KeapHoper’s Ian, Pat and Burger for some free bowling and beer in which we walked home with not one, but two trophies and morning headaches after way too much beer and margaritas. It may have been the promise of bowling and free beer that got us in the door, but it was hard to ignore the band, who was actually quiet good. The guys themselves were fun too, and pretty easy going bowling alongside bloggers and press and taking some time to answer questions and kick back. Any marketing team looking to break a band and get some good press could learn a lot from this effort from EMI and Cornerstone.

A Day with 3Sixteen

Our friend Andrew at 3sixteen had this great video put together by Sarah Krusen showing some behind the scenes footage of their day-to-day life. Sarah previously shot the 3sixteen lookbook and has done another great job with this project. Be sure to check out the latest from the crew at their new work/sale space Self Edge. (via)

Kid Cudi at Irving Plaza

by whizhouse January 26, 2010

On Friday night, Mr. Solo Dolo took the stage for the second consecutive night in front of a sold-out Irving Plaza. With a 16-plus crowd, Cudi let his inner child loose, pulling off his shirt and dancing his way through a high-energy set (so enthusiastically that his pants damn nearly fell down). Early opening act Consequence brought out Asher Roth to help perform its new track “Childish Games,” featured in last week’s Play Count, but it was the headliner who really shook the house. Cudi performed mostly material off of his major release, Man on the Moon: The End of Day, along with a couple throwbacks to his first (and only) mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi. Between songs, the young MC took the time to address recent issues (like punching fans) in a Kanye-esque rant—all while knocking back shots of Grey Goose, and later rolling one up with his Cleveland cohort, Chip tha Ripper, on their performance of “Hyyer.” Check out our photos from the show above, and get a glimpse of the action in our video recap after the jump.

kaeknows:

curren$y - breakfast

Another great video from the Creative Control team. Here is the pitch that came along with the Homie Emeka’s press release:

We don’t have the power to change the weather as of yet, but those of us with means can change our location to fit the climate we desire. In Curren$y’s latest video for his song “Breakfast” he does just that going from sleeping through NYC’s harsh winter to waking up in a sun drenched Jamaican villa. Director Jonah Shwartz leads us through Spitta’s daily routine of early morning doobie rolling over a mellow Mos Def produced soundtrack.

Hey DD172 crew/Creative Control–when can we get that Taxi track released? We’re ready to pay for it.

Finger on the Pulse X Legion Bar
Swing through Legion (790 Metropolitan Ave at Humboldt) to check out two great parties. Up front you’ve got Soul, Indie Punk and more, and in the backroom, Brooklyn’s own hip-hop band the Outabodies. These guys played a random house party in our building way back and are always a lot of fun. All free.
